Previously on The Mandalorian
But as we have seen in Season 2 Episode 3 when Din Djarin meets Bo-Katan Kryze (played by Katee Sackhoff) she breaks the truth to him. She informs him that it’s not standard Mandalorian culture to wear helmets. And, he was told so because his caregivers were part of a cult called the Watch. Mayfeld (Bill Burr) appeared in The Mandalorian Season 1, where he betrayed Mando aboard a New Republic confinement ship. And that too only for the tables to turn on him. Towards the end of Season 2 episode, 6 Mando enlists to help Cara Dune (Gina Carano) because of his Imperial History and that is where episode 7 begins. Cara strolls in the New Republics scrapyard with Marshal and discusses setting forth for Morak. Morak is a secret Imperial mining hub where Mayfeld believes he can access a terminal to locate Moff Gideon’s cruiser. Mando’s crew has now grown to includes Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen), Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison), Cara, and now Mayfield. They soon reach Morak, hijack a transporter vehicle, and disguise themselves as troopers and enter the mining hub. Except now they have a problem, someone needs to be scanned and no one except Mando has a clean record.
Highlights of Episode 7
The first complication arises when two of their fellow transporter ships blow up, as they are carrying rhydonium, an extremely unstable mineral. And just as that happens, pirates descend on their transporter, looking to steal the rhydonium. Mando and Mayfeld try their best to fight back but just as they were about to lose Imperial Empire’s soldiers come to save their day. They are then brought in the Imperial Empire’s facility where they face Valin Hess (Richard Brake). Mayfeld panics as he served under him once. The crew then makes it to a terminal and then the second complication arises as it asks for a facial scan. Valin walks up to them as Mando tries to unlock it with his helmet on. But Mayfeld distracts him with a conversation about a battle where Imperial Forces lost a lot of men. Valin doesn’t seem to recognize Mayfeld and eventually the situation heats up. Mayfeld snaps during this conversation as Valin don’t give a hoot about his men, and he shoots Valin point-blank, Han Solo style. As a result, they have to escape the facility as soon as they get what they came for. Moreover, while escaping on a cruiser, Mayfeld blows up the entire facility when he shoots a transporter with rhydonium. This impresses everyone. And, as a result, they decide to let Mayfeld go instead of bringing him back to scrapyard prison.
