It is later learned that Christopher is named after his lover, who is no longer alive. Alan turns the tide of war in favor of the British, but as soon as the government learns he is gay, he is convicted of gross indecency and mandated to undergo treatment. Benedict Cumberbatch expertly played the role of Alan Turing. Knightley co-starred as Joan Clarke, a woman who becomes his colleague and, for a time, his fiancée. The Imitation Game was the highest-grossing independent production of 2014. Both Cumberbatch and Knightley received nominations for Academy Awards for their performances.

Just as in the novel, five sisters are from an English family of the landed gentry in the 19th century. They deal with issues of marriage, morality, and misconceptions. Their mother is hellbent on getting them married. But Keira Knightley is the boldest, an independent young woman who she has other plans. She stars in the lead role of Elizabeth Bennet, while Matthew Macfadyen plays her romantic interest, Mr. Darcy. As soon as she meets Darcy, she begins to fall in love with him and she begins to imagine herself as his wife. But Darcy’s demeanor puts the future of the relationship into a question.

Moreover, it was nominated for six others, including Best Picture, Best Adapted Screenplay, and Best Supporting Actress for the young Saoirse Ronan.

Love Actually is a 2003 British Christmas-themed romantic comedy. The film is written and directed by Richard Curtis. Love Actually is everyone’s favorite Christmas movie. The stories of ten different individuals are all interrelated. These are shown in the weeks leading up to Christmas. The huge cast besides Keira Knightley includes names such as Hugh Grant, Colin Firth, Emma Thompson, Bill Nighy, Liam Neeson, Laura Linney, Alan Rickman, Martine McCutcheon, Rowan Atkinson. Keira plays a young girl named Juliet who marries a man named Peter. His best man Mark is in love with Keira’s Juliet.

Begin Again (7.4)

Begin Again is a 2013 American musical comedy-drama film. This one is my personal favorite. Keira Knightley and Mark Ruffalo lead the cast of the movie. It is about an independent singer-songwriter named Gretta whose boyfriend (Adam Levine) cheats on her. She joins hands with a record label exec named Dan to create an album in New York City. Dan’s marriage and life are in shambles. Gretta is a mess after the breakup. But the two manage a perfect low-budgeted album along with other independent artists around NYC.

Official Secrets (7.3)

Official Secrets is a 2019 British-American docudrama film. The film is the real-life story of GCHQ employee whistleblower Katharine Gun who investigated and leaked a memo detailing that the United States and the United Kingdom had eavesdropped on diplomats from countries tasked with passing a second United Nations resolution on the invasion of Iraq. Keira’s performance was haunting and perfect. The while motive for the US was to look for information to check on the sentiment of and to blackmail United Nations diplomats tasked to approve on a resolution regarding the 2003 invasion of Iraq. Official Secrets is directed by Gavin Hood. It stars Matt Smith, Matthew Goode, Adam Bakri, and Ralph Fiennes. It is about time such movies come out and to reflect on the importance of the message that they give.

Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest (7.3)

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest is a 2006 American fantasy swashbuckler film. The film is directed by Gore Verbinski, and written by Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio, and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. It starts with the wedding of Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley) being interrupted by Lord Cutler Beckett (Tom Hollander).  Cutler wants Turner to acquire the compass of Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) in a bid to find the Dead Man’s Chest. The parallel plot includes Sparrow discovering his debt to Davy Jones (Bill Nighy) is due. Hence the captain, Will Turner, and Elizabeth Swann set out sets out on the run.

Everest is a 2015 biographical adventure film. The film is about those eight explorers who were involved in the 1996 Mount Everest disaster. They start as optimistic travelers but are soon struck with a violent storm. As a result of this, their survival skills are put to by severe winds and low temperatures at the Mount Everest. Keira Knightley plays Jan Arnold, the pregnant wife of Rob Hall, who has been left at home. Jason Clarke is Rob Hall, the leader of a New Zealand expedition group. Everest is directed and produced by Baltasar Kormákur and written by William Nicholson and Simon Beaufoy. The cast includes Jason Clarke, Josh Brolin, John Hawkes, Robin Wright, Michael Kelly, Sam Worthington, Emily Watson, and Jake Gyllenhaal.

The cast includes Will Turner (Orlando Bloom), Elizabeth Swann, Hector Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush). After Jack is rescued, the pirate crew take on the East India Trading Company–the organization that hopes to completely get rid of piracy.
